Career and Technology Department |
Technology is about teaching students how to apply what they are learning in all of the other classes. Ever wonder why you need to know what x equals to in Algebra? Or why is it important to know how to not only read, but be able to comprehend as well? Classes in Building Trades, Business, Criminal Justice, and Automotive will take the concept and ideas students are learning in their regular classes to another level, the level of application. In these classes students are also learning employment skills.
This department is different because a lot of the skills learned are “hands on”. This means that the student will actually be working with their hands. For example the Telecommunication class is currently learning how to create and maintain web pages. They’re students in this class are responsible for the High School web page.

Social Studies |
Overall purpose is to lead students in the direction of good citizenship and increase their knowledge about the world they live in, about the past, present, and future. It goes hand-in-hand with a well rounded education.
Although we do share similarities with other departments, our department goes in a specific direction. We plan to make our students well rounded individuals, we assist them in understanding the present by helping them understand the past, and therefore helping them shape a proper future.
