Hello, My name is Ms. Irma Martinez. I am the District Math Coordinator for the Crystal City Independent School District. I have two Master's Degrees, one in Mathematics and one in Administration. I have been teaching for 23 years, and every single year has been challenging and rewarding. Here in the Math Department, we have been undergoing some changes. For instance, this year, students are now writing down problems in a math journal. And in these math journals, students are showing step by step, exactly what the problem is asking, what concepts or theorems they are using to solve the problem, the procedure of working the problem, and reflecting on how the problem was solved. Over all, our students are in a growing process, in which their skills are enhancing. |
